Responsibilities
Design, implement, and optimize scalable data pipelines for analytics, reporting and ML
Develop complex data models and transformations in BigQuery aligned with semantic and reporting needs
Apply data governance, lineage tracking, and schema evolution practices
Tune query performance and control costs in GCP environments
Automate data ingestion from multiple sources using orchestration tools
Ensure data models support reporting and ML use cases
Align on orchestration and deployment practices with the technology and engineering teams
Collaborate on testing and monitoring frameworks
Mentor junior engineers and review code for quality and performance
Collaborating with programmers, engineers, analysts and organizational leaders to identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend system modifications, acting as a product owner
Consult and advise Sr. management and/or the customer on technical aspects of major programs to meet long-term goals and translate business needs to technical specifications
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's in computer science, information technology, information systems or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
3-5 years in data engineering with production systems
SQL (advanced joins, analytical functions, performance profiling)
Python (data processing, API integration, scheduling)
BigQuery advanced (partition/clustering strategies, materialized views, cost controls)
Orchestration (Airflow, Cloud Composer, or similar)
Dataflow/Beam for streaming/batch pipelines
