Permitting, Certification, & Compliance Division Director

NEOGOV is seeking a Permitting, Certification, & Compliance Division Director for the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality. Responsibilities

Leadership of the Permitting, Certification, and Compliance Division for the MDEQ Office of Land and Water Resources (OLWR)
Planning, coordination, and oversight of statewide water withdrawal permitting, compliance, enforcement, water use, driller certification and logs, and drinking water protection
Development of workplans, performance measures, technical documents, and supervising division personnel
Working with the Office Director to set statewide priorities for permitting, compliance, water use, driller certifications, and source water protection
Review and improve program efficiencies, help formulate OLWR policy decisions, and work on MDEQ teams in support of field investigations, conjunctive water management initiatives, and emergency management response

Environmental Engineer Supervisor: Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree, a valid certificate of registration as a Professional Engineer from the Mississippi State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, seven (7)+ years of engineering experience, and one (1) to two (2) years of supervisory experience
Environmental/Natural Resources Specialist Manager: Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and eight (8)+ years of experience
Geologist Supervisor: Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree, registration as a Registered Professional Geologist (RPG) by the Mississippi State Board of Registered Professional Geologists, and eight (8)+ years of experience
