Responsibilities
Supervisory duties over attorneys serving in the information technology practice group
Managing procurement, contract matters, rulemaking, data privacy, cybersecurity, telecommunications, and public safety
Providing litigation support for program areas in administrative and judicial proceedings
Developing expertise in procuring technology and negotiating contracts
Providing strategic legal advice to DMS program areas
Assisting with structuring and implementing new programs in compliance with Florida and federal law
Qualification
Required
Ability to work independently and coordinate the work activities of reporting attorneys
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze data
Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and timely complete work assignments
Ability to use logic and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Knowledge of laws, rules, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, and agency policies and procedures or ability to thoroughly research such
Basic proficiency in office information technology
A juris doctor from an accredited law school
Admission to, and good standing with, The Florida Bar
At least three years of experience as a licensed attorney
At least two years of experience with chapter 287, Florida Statutes, competitive procurements
Preferred
Experience with rulemaking
Experience with bill analyses
Experience with Florida's Sunshine Law
Knowledge of information technology and cybersecurity
