Senior Credit Risk Analyst

Responsibilities
You will be responsible for monitoring, validating, updating, and improving automated underwriting scorecards and related controls, including the integration of AI prompting, for use by the underwriting team to accelerate the approval of credit limits for lending
In collaboration with the portfolio analytics team and credit operations, you will help propose periodic adjustments to benchmark metrics and scorecard credit limits based on changes in the credit cycle or portfolio correlations (VaR) for approval by the Chief Credit Risk Officer
With some experience, you will modify and develop new scorecards to address opportunities resulting from new data sources, analysis, and AI improvements
Use financial, credit, and statistical analysis to assess credit risk across large data sets
Collaboratively build and maintain a ‘dashboard’ and periodic readout of KPIs related to automated scorecard use and full underwriting approvals
Identify trends, portfolio characteristics, anomalies, and ideas to make recommendations for underwriting and operational improvements
Apply credit agency ratings, financial disclosures, credit metrics, probabilities of default (e.g. Merton Model estimates), payment delinquencies, general fixed income concepts, and third-party quantitative models as needed to analyze and improve scorecards
Optimize competing objectives and conflicting information to maximize credit model efficiency without compromising risk controls
Contribute to related ad-hoc analysis, projects, and presentations which support team processes and requests from senior leaders. Be prepared to adapt to new opportunities
Bring an awareness of economics and credit-related events for comparison with historical cycles to interpret the impact on current market dynamics and the credit portfolio
Add your voice to a geographically dispersed team with relevant insights into the challenges facing the people, businesses, and industries that make up our customers
Qualification
Required
Credit experience, or a strong grasp of credit risk based on related commercial lending, fixed income portfolio management, capital markets, treasury, investment banking, or accounting experience
Experience performing basic to intermediate statistical analysis including regressions
Intermediate to advanced Excel experience including pivot tables, API queries, and any statistical package
Experience developing and presenting in PowerPoint to leaders
Undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Business, Math, Engineering, or a related field
Preferred
3+ years of related business experience in credit, banking, asset management, corporate finance, or financial consulting
CFA, FRM, PRM, CFP, or similar accreditation is desirable
MBA or graduate degree in a related field or Bachelor with extensive experience
Experience with S&P CapIQ (or other data providers and their platforms such as Bloomberg, Moody's, BvD, MSCI, LSEG Data & Analytics (Refinitiv Eikon), FactSet, etc.)
Experience with SQL, Power BI, Business Objects, Python, or other data and finance-related tools
Experience with backtesting, VaR analysis, or other forms of stress testing
