KYYBA Inc is seeking a highly motivated Water Electrolysis Research Scientist to support the research and development of next generation water electrolysis technologies. The successful candidate will investigate non-PGM electro-catalysts, perform electrochemical characterization, and contribute to projects related to water electrolysis and fuel cells.

Responsibilities

Investigate non-PGM electro-catalysts for AEM water electrolysis, identifying promising candidates for further development
Integrate catalyst with ionomers to fabricate and optimize non-PGM AEM electrodes
Perform electrochemical and physical characterization of electrocatalyst materials and electrolysis cells
Conduct durability testing to study degradation mechanisms, and develop mitigation strategies to improve AEM electrode durability
Contribute to related projects, such as proton exchange membrane (PEM) water electrolysis or fuel cells, as assigned
Prepare and evaluate technical plans, reports, presentations, and proposals to support project success

Required

Ph.D. or equivalent in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or closely related field
Direct knowledge and experience in electrocatalyst synthesis
Fabrication and testing of MEAs/CCMs for water electrolyzers
Ability to work efficiently within a multidisciplinary research environment

Preferred

Hand-on experience in electrocatalyst synthesis, electrode fabrication, and electrochemical characterization
Extensive experience in AEM water electrolysis or related electrochemical energy conversion technologies
