Plumbing Engineer
CMTA, a Legence company, is one of the fastest growing engineering firms in the U.S. and is seeking a Plumbing Engineer with 3+ years of experience in plumbing design and engineering. The role involves working closely with the plumbing engineering team on energy efficient projects, focusing on layout and design for plumbing in construction projects, performing engineering calculations, and providing guidance to staff engineers.

Responsibilities
Layout and design for plumbing in construction projects
Performing flow tests and engineering calculations
Determine preliminary fire/domestic water requirements for various building types
Reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics
Reviewing and marking up others drawings
Generating electronic responses to questions and reviews
Attending meetings with owners, clients, and architects
Providing guidance and mentoring to staff engineers on appropriate design
Reviewing contractor submittals and shop drawings to determine conformance with contract documents and applicable codes
Evaluating, selecting and applying standard engineering techniques, procedures, and calculations to perform equipment research, piping layout, and pipe sizing
Conferring with other engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures; resolve system deficiencies and provide technical information
Researching and analyzing client design proposal specifications, manuals, and other criteria to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of the design or application
Specifying system components or directing modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance
Developing client relations through feedback to design engineers on customer concerns and needs
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience in plumbing design and engineering
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering required
Strong experience with MEP design and HVAC systems
Proficiency in Revit
Experience in project management and direct client interactions
Self-motivated individual with a technical background
Ability to thrive on resolving challenges and assisting clients
Involvement in all phases of a project
Ability to layout and design plumbing in construction projects
