Grounds Technician Foreperson
Boulder County Public Works Department is seeking to hire a Grounds Technician Foreperson. This role involves supervising grounds maintenance operations and performing skilled and semi-skilled duties in the development and maintenance of Boulder County grounds and facilities.
Education
Responsibilities
Performs maintenance and improvement projects on properties
Plans, organizes and reviews work of grounds employees in accordance with established goals, objectives and authorized work plan
Conducts performance evaluations, counsels employees concerning performance and recommends personnel actions in the areas of hiring, promotion, discipline and termination
Plans, organizes and reviews the work performed by outside contractors
Implements preventive/routine maintenance and improvement projects on properties administered by the Building Services Department
Estimates time, equipment and materials needed for projects
Tracks project expenditures and staff time spent on assigned projects
Directs the work of other Grounds Maintenance staff, hourly employees, community service workers and volunteers
Trains and monitors the work of other employees
Performs skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the operation of hand tools, power tools and equipment
Performs related work as required
May be reassigned in emergency situations
Qualification
Required
A high school diploma or equivalent
4 (four) years of parks or grounds maintenance experience
Applicants must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License
Boulder County Supervisory certificate or ability to obtain within two years required
Candidates for this position will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment physical
Training and experience in supervision required
Preferred
Specialized training and certification in specific job duties
Extensive working knowledge of the use of materials, equipment and procedures necessary for building maintenance; specialized training and certification in specific job duties preferred
