This high-impact leadership role involves serving as the technical authority for steel modeling and detailing while building scalable workflows and quality processes across complex steel projects.

Responsibilities
Lead and develop CV Engineering's steel detailing department and production workflows
Serve as the technical authority for Tekla Structures modeling standards and drawing quality
Establish and enforce QA/QC processes for shop, assembly, and erection drawings
Perform hands-on modeling and detailing during department startup and growth phases
Review and release fabrication and erection drawings
Coordinate closely with engineers, project managers, schedulers, and fabrication partners
Plan workloads, manage production schedules, and meet project milestones
Mentor and train detailing staff as the team expands
Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new detailers
Drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and workflow efficiency
Support cross-functional and international coordination efforts
Qualification
Required
Expert-level Tekla Structures proficiency
5-10+ years of professional steel detailing experience
Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication and erection practices
Experience producing and reviewing Tekla-based models and drawings
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, connection designs, and construction documents
Experience working directly with fabrication shops and erection teams
Strong leadership, organization, and team management skills
Excellent communication and coordination abilities
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Experience with industrial steel structures, platforms, plant facilities, or OEM equipment
Prior supervisory or department leadership experience
Familiarity with AISC, AWS, OSHA, Eurocode standards
International or offshore coordination experience
