Biomed Equipment Tech
Mercyhealth Wisconsin and Illinois is seeking a Biomed Equipment Tech to ensure the proper functioning and safety of medical equipment used in healthcare. The role involves inspecting, calibrating, repairing, and maintaining various medical devices while collaborating with medical staff and managing inventory and operational budgets.

Responsibilities
Services various equipment and apparatus including but not limited to patient monitors, electrocardiographs, blood gas analyzers, x-ray units, defibrillators, electrosurgical units, anesthesia apparatus, pacemakers, blood pressure transducers, spirometers, sterilizers, diathermy equipment and other related technical paraphernalia
Safety tests various equipment to ensure patient and staff safety from electrical or mechanical hazards
Consults with medical or research staff to ascertain that equipment functions properly and safely
Demonstrates and explains correct operation of equipment to medical personnel. Demonstrates proficiency in entering, completing, retrieving information regarding work orders, assets, PM schedules, and other functions and applications of the CMMS database as pertains to daily operation of the department
Modifies or develops instruments or devices, under supervision of medical or engineering staff
Works collectively with salesperson or service technician or equipment manufacturers or their representatives to assure proper operation of equipment
Completes daily work orders and other tasks as assigned with minimal supervision
Acts as a resource for partners
Participates in managing inventories and operational budget and helping with special events
May be required to work flexible hours, alternate shifts and weekends
May require travel with personal or company vehicle
May be assigned to any of Mercyhealth locations
Qualification
Required
Associate Degree in Bio-Medical Engineering/Electronics or related or related Military equivalent certifications or 15 years of related experience and your CBET required
Minimum 1-3 years of experience in an environment that pertains to installing, maintaining and repairing medical, electronic and/or mechanical equipment
Maintain a valid driver's license
Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy
Maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with proof of vehicle insurance when requested
Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy
Preferred
Certification as a Bio-Medical Technician by AAMI preferred
