Intern, Intelligence Project (Summer 2026)

The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is seeking a highly motivated research intern who is passionate about civil rights. The intern will work alongside the Intelligence Project Research team to conduct research, write, and analyze data to support the SPLC's mission of advancing racial justice and countering white supremacy.

Responsibilities

Focus on a few key research projects by working alongside our Intelligence Project Research team to research, write, and analyze data
Assist in drafting research memos, fact sheets, and other writings
Monitor news and other sources for relevant information
Identify useful resources, analysis, and information of relevance for the Intelligence Project
Collaborate with other members of the Intelligence Project team to support ongoing policy research needs
Uphold our JEDI principles by seeking diverse collaborators and partners that can deliver genuine, authentic and impactful work while ensuring their contributions are directed towards the shared mission, vision and values of the center and department’s goals

Required

Currently enrolled in a minimum of a bachelor's degree at a four-year college or university
Demonstrated research capabilities
