Responsibilities
Windows Server/VMware Administration
Manage and maintain Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022)
Installation and configuration of Windows and VM servers
Configure Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and file services
Manage VMware vSphere environments (ESXi hosts, vCenter)
Perform VM provisioning, resource allocation, and storage configuration
Monitor cluster health, HA/DRS configurations, and resolve L2-level issues
Apply patches and firmware updates to ESXi hosts
Good hands-on experience and knowledge in Chocolatey
Plan and execute OS patching cycles using tools like WSUS, SCCM, or Intune
Perform vulnerability assessments and remediation based on security advisories
Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
Monitor system health, performance, and capacity using tools like SCOM or equivalent
Troubleshoot server issues and provide Level 2/3 support for escalated incidents
Develop PowerShell scripts for automation of routine tasks and reporting
Ensure backup jobs run successfully and support disaster recovery drills
Implement hardening guidelines and security baselines
Maintain audit-ready documentation for patching and vulnerability management
Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and file services
Coordinate with backup teams for VM and OS-level backups
Validate restore operations during DR drills
Qualification
Required
Minimum 6+ years of experience in Windows Server administration
Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows security
Expertise in patch management tools (WSUS, SCCM) and vulnerability remediation
Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Ability to work in a 24x7 support environment
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Familiarity with VMware HA, DRS, vMotion, and storage concepts
