Responsibilities

Review and analyze the department’s monthly financial performance and budget status
Prepare and coordinate monthly consultant accruals by verifying purchase order documentation
Research and track purchase order payments and expenses within authorized service periods
Analyze month-end financial postings to identify variances and ensure accuracy
Research, compile, and prepare ad hoc financial and project data reports
Validate compliance with charge code guidelines for construction and consultant expenditures
Assist with budget preparation activities and financial data entry
Reconcile financial data across multiple systems and reports
Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in complex financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting within a large organization
Proven experience working with large datasets and reconciling financial data
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and macros/VBA
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint and related tools
Demonstrated experience with SAP financial modules, PeopleSoft, Oracle Essbase, and Hyperion SmartView
Strong understanding of GASB accounting principles
High attention to detail with the ability to identify errors, discrepancies, and inconsistencies
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively

Preferred

Prior experience supporting engineering, construction, or infrastructure-related financial operations
Experience working in a public-sector or large governmental organization
Familiarity with consultant payment compliance and financial controls
