Responsibilities
Review customer files and financial statements
Request financials and supporting documentation as needed
Analyze creditworthiness and assign appropriate credit limits
Make independent credit decisions within established authority
Manage accounts over $500K (final approval escalated to leadership)
Review new credit applications prepared by Credit Administration
Evaluate reports and make final credit determinations
Maintain accurate credit files and system records
Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
Monitor credit exposure and stay within 110% of assigned limits
Place accounts on hold when limits are exceeded
Adhere strictly to approval authority and internal controls
Proactively contact customers regarding outstanding balances
Escalate issues to Sales when appropriate
Resolve disputes, discrepancies, and reconciliation issues
Manage delinquent accounts and coordinate with external collections when required
Minimal write-offs; strong focus on recovery
Interface with Internal Audit, external auditors, and credit agencies
Support audits, confirmations, and balance verifications
Participate in process improvements and credit best practices
Maintain and update credit policies, procedures, and documentation
Qualification
Required
B2B trade credit experience (non-negotiable)
Strong financial analysis skills
Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements
Confident decision-maker with sound judgment
Experience managing credit limits and collections
Comfortable working directly with customers and Sales
Preferred
SAP or ERP system experience
Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or commodity-driven industries
Bachelor's degree in Business or related field (or equivalent experience)
1–3 years of credit experience (more senior profiles welcome if hands-on)
