Graystone Group is supporting a fast-growing value-added technology reseller in identifying a highly skilled Controller to lead and oversee all financial and accounting operations. This role is responsible for directing financial planning, budget management, debt financing, reporting, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

Plan and direct all accounting and financial operations, including A/P, A/R, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition
Provide strategic leadership for financial planning, debt management, and budget development
Recommend and implement financial benchmarks and KPIs to measure organizational performance
Deliver financial analysis and executive-level insights to support strategic decision-making
Maintain and continuously improve documented accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Ensure all financial transactions comply with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and company standards
Oversee month-end and year-end close, ensuring timely, accurate, and audit-ready financial reporting
Prepare and publish monthly financial statements and ensure compliance with GAAP
Coordinate all regulatory filings and reporting requirements at the local, state, and federal levels
Lead interactions with external auditors, ensuring timely delivery of financial data and supporting documentation
Manage audit preparation activities and facilitate a clean and efficient annual audit process
Oversee the daily operations of the Accounting Department, including payroll, bank reconciliations, A/P, and A/R
Provide leadership, performance management, and ongoing training to accounting staff
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and professional development within the department
Build strong professional relationships with internal teams, customers, vendors, and business partners
Partner closely with executives to support corporate initiatives and strategic priorities
Uphold company policies, ethics, and standards of business conduct
Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, regulatory updates, and best practices
Participate in ongoing training, certifications, and professional development programs
Attend relevant trade shows, conferences, and accounting/finance learning events as needed
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the CEO

Required

Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and/or CPA certification (required)
Proven experience as a Controller or senior accounting leader; public-sector experience preferred
Extensive hands-on experience with NetSuite (required)
In-depth knowledge of corporate finance, accounting laws, and compliance standards
Strong command of financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial management tools, including NetSuite ERP
Outstanding leadership, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; capable of influencing cross-functionally
High attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
