Responsibilities

Develop packaging solutions that optimize cost, material handling, safety, storage efficiency, weight, cleanliness, protection, and standardization
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support production-capable designs by gathering and interpreting technical requirements
Participate in the full packaging development lifecycle: concept creation, prototyping, performance testing, and launch execution with internal teams and external partners
Troubleshoot packaging-related issues involving design, materials, and processes; provide timely, creative, and cost-effective solutions
Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to determine product characteristics, handling requirements, environmental considerations, and appropriate packaging materials
Review CAD data, drawings, and GD&T documentation to ensure accuracy and proper configuration control
Maintain professional communication with customers and suppliers, reinforcing credibility as a technical expert in design and development
Resolve conflicts between customer requirements and process capabilities through technical discussion and negotiation
Conduct cost and feasibility analyses for design options and support internal cost estimation efforts
Communicate effectively across teams to share information and support project success

Required

Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
At least one year of experience with, or advanced knowledge of, expanded polypropylene (EPP)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
Experience with basic 2D and 3D CAD layouts
Knowledge of drafting and specification standards for production-ready documentation
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills
Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of working independently
Willingness to learn new processes and consistently perform at a high level
Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
Ability to interact effectively with team members and leadership at all levels
