Accessibility Remediation Temporary Aide
The State of Colorado's Department of Health Care Policy & Financing is seeking an Accessibility Remediation Temporary Aide to ensure compliance with digital accessibility regulations. The role involves performing accessibility tests, documenting results, and assisting in the remediation of documents to improve accessibility for all users.

Responsibilities
Ensures compliance with digital accessibility regulations and requirements
Performs accessibility tests using evaluation tools, manual testing, and assistive technologies
Records results of accessibility tests in an accessible, usable and shareable format
Leverages web analytics to identify high-priority public documents, collaborating with the web team to track usage trends and ensure the most frequently accessed content is prioritized for remediation
Refers internal staff and vendors to document remediation and digital accessibility compliance resources
Performs document remediation, when appropriate, using Adobe Acrobat Pro, CommonLook, and other technologies
Records results of remediation consultations and remediations performed in a centralized location
Assists the Digital Accessibility Unit with educating internal staff on the design, development and distribution of accessible documents
Supports the Document Inventory & Progress Tracking effort for each office and the overall Department in partnership with the Digital Accessibility Unit and office Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
Assists office SMEs with prioritizing and assessing documents to be included in the inventory
Remediates inventoried documents marked for remediation by SMEs and updates the status of remediated documents to 'Accessible'. Once complete, coordinates the update of each document’s location URL
Assists SMEs in the re-upload effort of previously remediated PDFs from the main public website
Qualification
Required
Six years of professional experience monitoring Digital Accessibility and ADA compliance while assessing organizational legal risks to avoid litigation and fines, and experience or working knowledge in testing and remediation of digital accessibility issues across multiple platforms and tools
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in public health, human services, and/or health policy or a field of study related to the work assignment
Two years of professional experience monitoring Digital Accessibility and ADA compliance while assessing organizational legal risks to avoid litigation and fines, and experience or working knowledge in testing and remediation of digital accessibility issues across multiple platforms and tools
All positions at HCPF are security sensitive positions and require that the individuals undergo a criminal record background check as a condition of employment
Preferred
Previous related State of Colorado experience
Master's Degree in Business, Communications, Political Science, Public Health, Public Administration, Legal Studies, Public Policy, or related field
Experience planning, assigning, organizing, prioritizing, monitoring, and delegating work of others to accomplish work tasks
