Responsibilities
Perform installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of large industrial compressor systems
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues on compressor units and associated equipment
Maintain and service electrically driven compressor units, including motors, starters, drives, and protection systems
Diagnose performance issues and implement corrective actions to ensure optimal operation and reliability
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with established procedures and schedules
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
Perform testing, calibration, and verification of electrical and control components
Ensure all work complies with safety standards, electrical codes, and best practices
Document maintenance activities, findings, and repairs accurately and thoroughly
Support commissioning, startup, and shutdown activities as required
Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve complex equipment issues
Identify opportunities for equipment improvements, reliability enhancements, and downtime reduction
Qualification
Required
10–15 years of hands-on experience working with large industrial compressor systems
Demonstrated experience with: Caterpillar 3600 and 3500 series aerial compressors
Demonstrated experience with: Caterpillar 3516 and 3616 electrically driven compressor units
Strong background in electrical systems, including motors, switchgear, starters, and control circuits
Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair high-horsepower rotating equipment
Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical manuals
Strong understanding of preventive maintenance and reliability practices
Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Commitment to safety and adherence to electrical and operational standards
Preferred
Experience with compressor control systems and instrumentation
Familiarity with industrial automation, PLCs, or monitoring systems
Electrical certifications or technical training related to industrial power systems
Experience supporting commissioning and major overhauls
