Accounting Manager

Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Manage journal entries, account reconciliations, and fixed asset accounting
Develop, support, and monitor annual budgets and periodic forecasts
Analyze budget-to-actual results and provide insights to leadership
Support cash flow management and financial planning initiatives
Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support business decisions
Prepare or coordinate the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns
Manage tax filings, estimates, and ongoing compliance requirements
Collaborate with external tax advisors and CPAs
Identify, document, and help maximize applicable tax incentives and benefits, including R&D tax credits (e.g., Section 174/41 studies)
Support tax planning strategies aligned with company growth and innovation initiatives
Support payroll processing, benefits coordination, and employee record accuracy in collaboration with leadership and HR
Assist with onboarding and offboarding documentation, employee data changes, and internal compliance processes
Help ensure accurate timekeeping, payroll reporting, and benefit-related administration
Partner with leadership and HR on process improvements related to accounting, administration, and internal operations
Serve as a point of contact for accounting and administrative questions across departments
Support audit preparation and coordination across accounting and administrative functions
Qualification
Required
Strong understanding of financial statements with the ability to prepare and review detailed reports
Proficiency in journal entries, account reconciliations, and fixed asset management
Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial and budgetary data and identify trends
Knowledge of finance and tax principles with the ability to support strategic planning
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Experience with tax compliance, tax planning, and coordination with external tax advisors
Degree and Experience in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources or a related field
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Experience supporting payroll, benefits administration, or HR-related administrative processes
Preferred
Familiarity with R&D tax credits (e.g., Section 174/41 studies) or similar incentives is a plus
