Education and Interpretation Intern – ONSITE – Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial

Environment for the Americas is seeking two interns for the Latino Heritage Internship Program at Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial. The interns will support youth and family program development, create bilingual educational materials, and engage with local Latinx communities to enhance outreach efforts.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver youth and family programs at Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial
Create bilingual (Spanish-English), audience-centered educational and interpretive programs and materials
Take programs into the community, including schools, libraries, festivals, and summer camp programs
Develop or update park exhibits and digital content (e.g., short films or interpretive media)
Engage with local Latinx communities to expand and sustain outreach efforts
Build and maintain relationships with community organizations such as ALASI and Carnival Latino
Assist with on-site interpretation, including pioneer life demonstrations, nature programs, living history farm tours, and Memorial Visitor Center experiences
Support the continuity of outreach and educational programs for future park initiatives
Collaborate with park staff to ensure programs align with park educational and interpretive goals

Required

Be a U.S. citizen or legal resident
Be between the ages of 18 and 30, or up to 35 if a veteran
Be willing to undergo a background check upon hiring
Have a valid driver's license and a good driving record
Major studies relevant to this position include History, Education, Earth Sciences, Communications, or related disciplines
Dependable, with demonstrated integrity and professionalism
Ability to work collaboratively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and communities
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Fluent in Spanish and English (reading, writing, and speaking)
Ability to manage time effectively, meet deadlines, and maintain accountability
Experience or interest in developing and delivering youth and family programs
Ability to create bilingual, audience-centered educational and interpretive materials
Comfort presenting programs in both on-site and community-based settings
Experience or interest in community outreach and relationship-building, particularly with Latinx communities
Ability to collaborate with park staff and community partners to support interpretive and educational goals
