Substation Project Development, Senior Engineer 1

Responsibilities
Oversees engineers performing diagnostics, monitoring and inspecting equipment, and reviewing grid technologies, building relationships to facilitate cross-functional knowledge transfer of related work groups
Leads the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and other documentation to communicate project status, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders
Collaborates and leads with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless development, integration and implementation of future technologies and asset performance management strategies
Assists in a variety of engineering and business initiatives and grid strategies, including development of innovative procedures and design recommendations
Provides support for new equipment installation and startup, then leads the hand over processes to the ramp and sustaining phases
Leads junior engineers in investigation of threats on the distribution system infrastructure based on observations and findings
Gathers and correlates basic data using engineering studies and procedures, which may include routine and diagnostic testing of components and systems
Facilitates training and professional development opportunities for engineering team members to enhance their skills and knowledge
A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Bachelor's Degree in a scientific/technical/math field
Seven or more years of experience in engineering within operations, production, construction or maintenance environments
Possess a valid Class C Driver's License
Preferred
Master's degree in electrical Engineer or related technical discipline
Experience developing and delivering technical presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences
Experience collaborating with regional transmission organizations (e.g. CAISO), regulatory agencies (e.g. FERC, NERC)
Experience supporting the development of testimony for regulatory proceedings and environmental licensing
Engineering experience related to modeling and performing power system analyses on SCE grid (i.e. 4 kV up to 500 kV)
Experience in utility industry, with a focus in distribution, subtransmission and transmission planning, grid interconnection, power system infrastructure related to substations and/or design of those facilities
Experience in project management, including strategic planning, budgeting, and execution of large-scale projects
