Responsibilities
Planning, organizing, and directing major scientific and clinical studies to ensure the validity, reliability, and regulatory compliance of laboratory-developed tests (LDTs), FDA-approved assays, and research studies
Designing statistically sound experiments for the validation and verification of new laboratory tests, instruments, and methodologies
Collaborating with supervisors, clinical laboratory scientists, and research staff to apply statistical tools and develop statistical analysis plans (SAPs) for validation studies related to newborn and prenatal screening assays, research studies supporting screening outcomes, and internal research projects
Qualification
Required
Master's Degree or Doctoral Degree in a relevant field
Experience in planning, organizing, and directing scientific and clinical studies
Knowledge of laboratory-developed tests (LDTs) and FDA-approved assays
Ability to design statistically sound experiments
Experience in developing statistical analysis plans (SAPs)
Collaboration skills with supervisors, clinical laboratory scientists, and research staff
Ability to work under administrative direction
California residency prior to appointment and maintenance of residency as a condition of employment
Willingness to travel as required for the position
