Responsibilities
Automation Engineer, will be responsible for providing Automation support, implementing, and maintaining automation control systems for distribution and processing equipment, and supporting projects
You are the authority for material handling equipment, maintenance, projects, and operations
Strong business acumen and understanding of the equipment maintenance process
Strategic sourcing and negotiations experience (including contracts)
Solid problem solving and analytical experience influencing skills
Project management skills
Proficient in English (written and oral)
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and implement approved strategies to drive value for J&J businesses
Knowledge and experience in Automation and maintenance related technology, IT, and compliance processes
Customer-centric mindset, both internal and external stakeholders
Strong collaboration skills and able to influence without authority and comprehend unique requirements and challenges
Qualification
Required
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering or Technical field is required
5 years+ of relevant Automation experience with 5 years+ overall business experience
Experience working in a highly matrixed, global organization is critical for success
Six Sigma and Lean Training
Compliance knowledge
Presentation and well-developed communication skills
Strong Microsoft Project Management and AutoCAD skills
Subject Matter Expert for automation systems at the site and support key IT/automation projects and controls projects
Strong experience and knowledge with controls systems (Warehouse Management System, Temperature Control, Building Management Systems, Alarms, (hardware, software, systems upgrades and programming). PLCs Input/Output, configuration of peripheral components and computers
Familiarity with Honeywell, Siemens, Rockwell Automation
Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, and IT to ensure new equipment is purchased and installed in line with Manufacturing Systems long term strategy
Ensure alignment with platform and corporate groups (Manufacturing Systems, IT, etc.)
Lead project management efforts for automation-driven projects from initiation to completion
This includes defining project scope, developing timelines, allocating resources, and managing risks to ensure successful delivery within established parameters
Strong experience and knowledge of automated controls systems in Distribution and computerized warehouse management systems (WMS), temp control, building management systems (BMS), alarms hardware, software, and system upgrades
Strong business acumen and understanding of the equipment maintenance process
Strategic sourcing and negotiations experience (including contracts)
Solid problem solving and analytical experience influencing skills

Proficient in English (written and oral)
