Purchasing Clerk

CRH is a leading building materials business with a commitment to quality and community. Hinkle Contracting Company is seeking a Purchasing Clerk to assist the Purchasing Specialist with various duties including data entry, ordering tasks, and maintaining purchase reports.

Responsibilities

Perform computer entries
Type purchasing orders
Stocking duties
Pricing duties
Perform ordering tasks
Issuing & receiving purchase orders
Data entry
Scheduling hotel reservations for field employees when necessary
Follow up on shipments to ensure goods or service are delivered
Responsible to assure all documentation is received to assist accounts payable
Work closely with accounts payable regarding supplier and vendor invoices
Maintaining and compiling purchase report
Type, mail and send faxes for supervisor
All other duties as assigned

Required

High School graduate with 3-5 years' work experience in similar position, or 2 year associates degree
Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organization levels, including senior management
Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures
Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
Excellent communication skills and professional personal presentation
Organizing; planning, and customer service orientation
Great attention to detail and stress tolerance
Must be willing to work weekends and extended hours
Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
Pass a pre-employment 'Fit for Work' physical
Be able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document
Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times
Report to work at the designated start time
Be able to work overtime when required
Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook
Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co–workers or supervisors with other duties as required

Preferred

Experience within the construction industry strongly preferred
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft products preferred
