Responsibilities
Provide customer service to staff, residents, and visitors by following site-specific security-related procedures, access control requirements, and when appropriate, emergency response activities
Carry and use assigned authorized equipment in accordance with applicable laws, post orders, and Allied Universal policies; maintain required qualifications and documentation for an armed post
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document actions taken and notify site leadership and/or emergency services as required
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including common spaces, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by site
Complete detailed reports and logs, monitor alarms and/or cameras when assigned, and communicate observations to Allied Universal management and site contacts to help to deter unwanted activity
Qualification
Required
An armed guard card/license is required
A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
Participate in industry-specific security training programs
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
Preferred
CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred
Handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton are preferred
