Responsibilities

Developing and delivering internal and external communications strategies and tactics to build and protect Delta's reputation as an airline driven by an innovative, socially minded, and inclusive culture
Providing strategic communications counsel to senior-level stakeholders and partners Working with GM to drive the consistent integration of sustainability, DEI and community engagement messaging, across Delta’s corporate narrative and business narrative
Work collaboratively within the Brand & Consumer team and across Global Communications to develop communications (e.g. news releases, social media posts, multimedia content, employee-facing stories and videos, etc.) that build corporate trust and position Delta as a values-led brand
Proactively seek out and confirm executive thought leadership placements (earned media interviews, speaking engagements, social media posts, internal town halls) that support Delta’s Purpose narrative
Serve as a spokesperson for proactive and reactive activities related to Purpose communications, while developing relationships with key traditional and emerging media
Working with Director and retained agency to develop thought leadership strategy for CSO and CDO to reinforce Delta as a values-led, people-centric and experience-focused premium brand and lead delivery of strategy including securing speaking and media engagements, developing briefs and managing internal and external social platforms
Nurturing collaboration within and across a highly complex matrix team to drive adoption of best-in-class sustainability, DEI and community engagement practices
Working with Director and agency partner to identify the latest trends and educate relevant parties about best corporate policies and communication practices
Constantly incorporating industry perspective into our ideas
Supporting processes and resources (i.e. Key message repository) to ensure consistent Purpose messaging, reflecting employee and customer priorities and issues across Global Comms and Delta
Managing projects expertly to help keep momentum on strategic initiatives involving multiple teams and executives

Required

Minimum of 8 years' experience in Corporate Communications, Employee Relations, Public Relations and/or Marketing Communications, including day-to-day relationships with Senior Executives
Ability to move seamlessly between big critical thinking and tactical execution and juggle competing priorities while considering a variety of perspectives and connecting dots throughout the business
Ability to act as strategic counsel to and cultivate constructive relationships with individuals at all levels
Strong issues management experience
Diplomacy, positivity, keen problem-solving, critical thinking, and the ability to receive and deliver constructive criticism
Strategic, solutions-oriented approach and ease working collaboratively across teams
Strong team orientation and relationship-building skills; predisposition to seek and integrate diverse viewpoints
Embraces a diverse set of people, thinking and styles
Honesty, integrity, respectfulness, perseverance, and servant leadership – and the ability to foster these core Delta values and bring out the best in team members
Passion for measurement and analysis to gain results and prioritize work

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is essential
Must be performing satisfactorily in present position
Ability to work in office at Atlanta G.O. a minimum of three days per week
Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, journalism or related field preferred
Crisis communications or issues management experience
Demonstrated passion in sustainability or ESG, and a working knowledge of key purpose focused leaders, influencers, initiatives
A combination of agency, corporate, and/or consumer communications experience
Experience and expertise in social and traditional media to drive external communications strategy and execution
