Business Analyst, Sr.
Manhattanville University is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to serve as a functional partner for the Ellucian Colleague ERP and drive business process documentation and Microsoft 365 enablement. This role involves collaborating with various departments to optimize processes, ensure data quality, and deliver training to enhance operational efficiency and student success.

Responsibilities
Serve as functional product champion for Colleague (Student, Finance, HR/Payroll, and Financial Aid), including Self-Service and related modules; lead requirements, configuration, release readiness, and roadmap planning in partnership with the CIO and functional offices
In partnership with campus constituents, design and continuously improve student lifecycle processes (enrolled-to-alumni), finance, HR/Payroll, and aid packaging/disbursement, ensuring usability, controls, and auditability that align to higher-ed best practices
Coordinate quarterly Colleague release testing and change adoption including stakeholder communications
Partner with Reporting/Analytics to enable dashboards and operational reporting (e.g., Power BI/SQL, Informer) that surface actionable insights (enrollment, retention, receivables, financial aid compliance)
Support data governance standards (reference data, code tables, integrations, security roles) to protect sensitive student/employee data and improve data quality across Colleague and connected systems
Establish a Manhattanville Process Library: map and maintain current/future-state workflows, RACI, SOPs, and SLAs for academic and administrative processes (e.g., registration, degree conferral, refunds, payroll, procurement, gifts/advancement)
Facilitate process discovery workshops and Kaizen events to remove bottlenecks, clarify handoffs, and embed controls; quantify benefits (cycle time, error reduction, satisfaction)
Implement change management practices (stakeholder analysis, communications, job aids) to sustain adoption university wide
Build and deliver a role-based M365 curriculum (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook, Forms, etc.) tailored to faculty, staff, and student workers; prioritize accessibility and inclusive design
Develop governance-aware training that reinforces data protection, retention, and collaboration policies (e.g., Teams lifecycle, external sharing, sensitivity labels), aligned to higher-education governance frameworks
Create just-in-time resources (short videos, micro learning, office hours) and measure adoption (usage analytics, satisfaction, reduction in shadow IT)
Establish standards for data quality, security, and lifecycle management
Ensures adherence to FERPA, GDPR, and cybersecurity best practices

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree
5+ years of experience in business analysis
3+ years of experience with Colleague ERP
Demonstrated success leading cross functional process improvement and documentation initiatives; strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills
Hands on experience delivering M365 training and enablement programs (Teams/SharePoint governance, collaboration patterns, automation)
Proficiency with reporting/analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Informer, SSRS) and SQL concepts to translate business needs into reliable operational reporting
Excellent communication skills; ability to translate complex systems into clear narratives and practical steps
Experience working in a policy and procedure driven IT environment
Ability to work and participate in a team environment
Outstanding work, task and time management aptitudes
