Staff Geologist/Scientist II
Farallon Consulting, L.L.C. is seeking an experienced Staff Geologist/Scientist II for their Seattle or Bellevue, Washington office. The role involves providing environmental solutions and consulting services across various projects, including due diligence, remediation, and stormwater management.

Responsibilities
Perform professional environmental consulting work supporting a broad range of projects that reflect Farallon’s core practices including:
Transactional due diligence screenings including site walks, historical research, and preparation of written reports
Remedial Investigations and Feasibility Studies
Field investigations including drilling, injection work, and pilot testing
Remediation system design and construction oversight
Cleanup implementation including mass excavation, soil vapor or multi-phase extraction, injection, and ongoing operations and maintenance of existing systems
Stormwater management and compliance including preparation of Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plans, implementation of temporary erosion and sediment control measures, and other systems
Travel to job sites is required to support ongoing and potential project work activities. This is estimated at 20% yet as needed to perform work
Collection of soil and groundwater samples, soil vapor samples, and other similar sampling work
Overseeing execution of environmental field investigations including drilling, system installations, and transactional screenings
Plan and manage field investigations projects in accordance with prepared Work Plans, industry standards of care, and Farallon’s health and safety practices
Preparation of written reports and other memoranda
Performing construction observation and quality assurance with assistance of senior staff
Professionally representing Farallon to clients, vendors, regulatory agencies, and others
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 2 years of field experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, or Earth Sciences or a related field
Familiar with Microsoft Office 365 Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Strong attention to detail, time management, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to assertively direct others in the field such as subcontracted drillers, excavation contractors, utility locators, and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical work hours
Ability to analyze data and applying problem-solving skills
Willingness to learn and complete basic reporting and paperwork tasks
Knowledge of appropriate state regulations, including appropriate health and safety regulations required to perform typical field and office tasks
Valid WA driver's license and safe driving record
Preferred
40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120)
Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training
