The role involves working closely with various divisions and subject matter experts to promote and advance FHIR for improved interface interoperability.

Responsibilities
Contributing significantly to strategic FHIR specific projects
Building agency-level readiness and capacity to adopt public health FHIR solutions
Development of a FHIR roadmap
Supporting HL7 FHIR interoperability projects such as HL7 Helios FHIR Accelerator focus areas
Supporting Client electronic data interchange (EDI) Interoperability Infrastructure & Architecture enhancement activities in alignment with Client data modernization efforts
Exposure and experience in the use and development of interoperability standards, like HL7
Working on a wide range of informatics projects including system integration, system interoperability, electronic health record implementation, and specific public health reporting projects
Potential for presentation and public speaking opportunities
Core Informatics staff will assist with emergency response situations when necessary
Qualification
Required
Coordinate and support public health FHIR interoperability activities and related projects
Work closely with other members and interoperability subject matter experts in OIA, various Client divisions and program areas, and the state IT division, Strategic Technology Solutions (STS)
Contribute significantly to strategic FHIR specific projects
Build agency-level readiness and capacity to adopt public health FHIR solutions
Develop a FHIR roadmap
Support HL7 FHIR interoperability projects such as HL7 Helios FHIR Accelerator focus areas (i.e., implementation support of query and response or aggregate data priority areas)
Support Client electronic data interchange (EDI) Interoperability Infrastructure & Architecture enhancement activities in alignment with Client data modernization efforts
Get exposure and experience in the use and development of interoperability standards, like HL7
Work on a wide range of informatics projects including system integration, system interoperability, electronic health record implementation, and specific public health reporting projects
May require some in-state and possible out-of-state travel
Potential for presentation and public speaking opportunities
Assist with emergency response situations when necessary
