Responsibilities
Utilizing economic theory and conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses to address competition issues and make policy recommendations
Assisting attorneys in evaluating economic evidence during the course of an investigation, litigation or settlement
Locating and working with outside economic experts to conduct expert economic analysis
Testifying on behalf of the Department (where appropriate)
Providing economic analysis of current and potential future legislation
Cooperating with and, in some cases, providing analyses to other state Attorney General offices and federal regulatory agencies including the U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission
Qualification
Required
Passion for antitrust and for promoting and protecting competition in California
Ability to find creative ways to apply economics to new problems
Utilizing economic theory and conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses to address competition issues and make policy recommendations
Assisting attorneys in evaluating economic evidence during the course of an investigation, litigation or settlement
Locating and working with outside economic experts to conduct expert economic analysis
Testifying on behalf of the Department (where appropriate)
Providing economic analysis of current and potential future legislation
Cooperating with and, in some cases, providing analyses to other state Attorney General offices and federal regulatory agencies including the U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission
