Graphic Artist Intern

Scheels is a leading retailer in the USA, and they are seeking a Graphic Artist Intern to join their marketing team. The intern will create designs that showcase the brand messages and collaborate with fellow graphic artists on various design projects.

Responsibilities

Design clear and compelling designs while maintaining brand standards and meeting communication objectives
Create design projects from concept to production for a variety of areas including, but not limited to: in-store display, print catalogs, flyers, and direct mail
Revise detailed layouts and provide execution efficiencies
Build ready-to-go final artwork files for digital or print
Execute multiple assignments on time, and revise to meet changing needs and requirements
Remain in tune with design trends and maintain best practices. Share findings with fellow artists to create an atmosphere for continual collaboration
Actively participate in team and office meetings/trainings
Confer with leadership to resolve problems or questions
Strive to meet goals and assist others in accomplishing their goals
Ability to be highly organized and maintain all detailed aspects of projects
Continuous brainstorm of new processes to improve workflows
Strong initiative for continuous improvement
Ability to work independently and with the team
Ensure the Scheels brand style guide is upheld across all digital and video content
Organize daily routines, budget management, and general administrative tasks
Maintain a safe and clean work environment

Required

Ideal candidate would be pursuing a degree (BFA, BS or AAS) in Graphic Design, or a related field
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Genuinely and consistently treat co-workers, customers and business partners like they are the most important person including eye contact, a smile and a genuine 'Thank you'
Approach daily tasks, projects and follow-up communication with energy and sense of urgency
Cultivate a deep desire to become a knowledge expert in their role with the ability to apply their knowledge and experience with great impact

Interest in motion graphic design/animation preferred but not required
