Clin Trials Rsrch Associate - ICTS Coordinator Core
The University of Iowa is seeking a Clinical Trials Research Associate to support the Institute for Clinical and Translational Science and the Department of Surgery. This role involves performing community-based clinical research activities, managing regulatory documentation, and assisting in the design and execution of clinical studies.

Responsibilities
Perform community-based clinical/health care research activities in the Institute for Clinical and Translational Science and the Department of Surgery
Monitor our site’s participation in clinical research projects
Assist in the design, development, execution, administration and maintenance of protocols and clinical studies and provide input into descriptions of complex research procedures
Assist patients with problems related to protocol
Participate in the design; development and testing of clinical research trial data systems
Acts as a liaison between health care clinical information systems and research data systems
Manage and organize regulatory documentation
Prepare and submit regulatory submissions
Participate in preparation of grant applications for extramural funding
Assist with tracking and reconciling grant/trial budget free balances and identify opportunities to ensure that grant funding is being used as intended and awarded
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor's degree in a Health Science field or an equivalent combination of education and research experience
Minimum 1 year of clinical research or related experience
Working knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) in research
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work nights and weekends is required
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
Preferred
Previous experience writing manuscripts for publication
Experience with REDCap, Epic, ICart, and ACCESS
Previous experience in data collection and entry
Experience in processing research regulatory documents
The ability to work independently
Excellent time management skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work
The ability to travel for clinical research activities
Prior work experience in academic medicine, healthcare, or research organization
