Responsibilities
Responsible for overseeing daily meal service operations at a community dining location, ensuring that nutritious meals are served efficiently, safely, and with dignity to clients
This role includes coordinating meal delivery and setup, supervising staff and volunteers, maintaining food safety and sanitation standards, managing inventory and basic records, and fostering a welcoming environment for participants
The dining site manager also serves as a key point of contact between clients, volunteers, and the Meals on Wheels organization, helping to support the program’s mission of reducing hunger and social isolation among seniors and individuals in need
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience in food service, meal preparation, or kitchen management
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Ability to supervise staff and volunteers
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to interact compassionately with clients
Preferred
Experience managing a community dining program or similar service
Basic computer skills for recordkeeping and reporting
First aid/CPR certification
Previous experience working with seniors or vulnerable populations
