Summer Fisheries Intern - ONSITE - Point Reyes National Seashore
Environment for the Americas is seeking a Summer Fisheries Intern to engage young professionals in natural resource careers. The intern will work with a fishery biologist at Point Reyes National Seashore to monitor endangered coho salmon and threatened steelhead, while also focusing on public outreach projects related to fisheries monitoring.

Readying field equipment, collecting field data, and data entry
Transform knowledge into an educational piece for public use
Engage and education the public about fish
Qualification
Required
Be a U.S. citizen or legal resident
Be between the ages of 18 - 30 years or up to 35 years if a veteran
Be willing to undergo a background check upon hiring
Have a valid driver's license and a good driving record
A personal vehicle is required for this position
Major studies relevant to this position: fisheries, freshwater ecology, marine biology, or other related life science
Work independently on complex projects while maintaining open lines of communication with project staff
Enthusiasm towards field work in the life sciences and a strong work ethic
Be in good physical fitness and ability to work full days in an outdoor field setting. The candidate will be required to work off trail, wade in streams, and be able to climb over cattle fences, downed trees, limbs, and piles of accumulated instream wood
Be comfortable driving large vehicles in rural areas
