Finance Manager
Nesco Resource is a company seeking a Plant Finance / Business Support Lead to support the site General Manager in delivering the facility's financial results. Responsibilities
Prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts with the Plant General Manager, targeting forecast accuracy within ±5%
Utilize KPIs and site initiatives to identify growth opportunities
Collaborate with commercial leaders to validate and challenge revenue expectations
Simplify and improve budgeting and reporting processes
Clearly communicate financial and non-financial performance indicators
Identify key business drivers and articulate financial impact
Serve as a financial consultant to develop and support improvement action plans
Support, review, and track cost reduction initiatives
Partner with the General Manager on long-range capital planning
Analyze competitive strengths and weaknesses to inform investment decisions
Oversee internal control activities and remediation efforts
Ensure decision-making aligns with established authority levels
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Safeguard site assets and ensure accurate financial reporting
Balance effective value creation with control efficiency
Optimize processes through IT improvements and best practices
Provide customer profitability analysis and identify margin erosion
Facilitate discussions to improve margins through pricing, volume, or operational improvements
Perform month-end close activities within the ERP system
Review daily job costing and resolve reporting discrepancies
Validate WIP, finished goods, and raw material balances
Review journal entries and P&L classifications
Support inventory counts and reconciliations
Perform additional accounting tasks as needed
Facilitate decision-making to improve working capital and cash flow performance
Conduct benchmarking against comparable facilities
Prepare and deliver presentations for plant visits and leadership reviews
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA or CMA strongly preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing (pulp and paper industry preferred)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Advanced, validated proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience supporting large capital projects
Detail-oriented, adaptable, and deadline-driven
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a changing environment
Preferred
Experience with Hyperion SmartView and Qlik Cloud preferred
