Responsibilities

Set the vision and priorities for a dedicated team of 20+ interdisciplinary specialists working across Vermont to improve educational access and outcomes
Cultivate strong partnerships with schools, families, and state agencies
Oversee project budgets, secure grant funding, and ensure compliance with University and state policies

Qualification

Special education experienceGrant writing skillsLeadership skillsIDEAUniversal Design for LearningChange management skillsCommunication skillsTime management skills

Required

Masters Degree in related field and four to five years of specialized experience in special education and administration required
A deep knowledge of evidence-based strategies for inclusive education practices
Familiarity with IDEA, ADA, and Section 504
Experience working with students with complex needs
Strong communication skills including policy brief and grant writing skills
Demonstrated leadership, decision making, time management, and change management skills

Preferred

An understanding of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Assistive Technology frameworks is preferred
