Responsibilities
Bring your years of experience as a data professional to rapidly orient yourself and develop a plan to deliver impactful data on common Marsh infrastructure (primarily Databricks)
Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable data solutions supporting layered data frameworks
Mentor a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Collaborate closely with business teams to rapidly develop data solutions that fit evolving requirements
Partner with central platform teams to implement features that enhance data operations efficiency and reliability
Drive adoption of DevOps/DataOps best practices, including Git version control, pipeline-driven deployments, and CI/CD workflows
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve data engineering practices
Qualification
Required
10+ years of data leadership experience
Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, with advanced scripting and automation skills
Extensive experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse, and cloud providers like AWS, Azure, or GCP
Proven experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps/DataOps methodologies
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Ability to identify and proactively solve complex data-related problems
Preferred
Demonstrated excellence in both technical and business roles
Experience working in fast-paced, client-facing, or consulting environments
Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities
Databricks Certification
Experience with DBT
Passion for growth and learning, both personally and for your team
Experience implementing data governance frameworks and metadata management
Strong ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
