Research Associate

Responsibilities

Sample processing and generation of phenotyping data including tissue imaging, blood and tissue functional studies and sequencing
Executing state of the art phenotyping strategies (assays, histology, RNA and protein readouts)
Analyze, review and interpret results
Assisting with setting up human liver perfusions, monitoring of livers during perfusion, problem solving and responding to poor liver function, collecting samples, and preparing samples for phenotyping (full training will be provided)
Actively collaborate and communicate with other members of Ochre Bio across all three sites (US, UK & Taiwan)

Required

BSc degree or higher in a biological science or similar field of study
Significant wet lab experience in either an academic or industry setting
Ability to work in a fast paced environment where you have been expected to rapidly produce, analyze and present results
Experience with molecular and cellular techniques
Strong expertise with lab-based assays such as qPCR, western blots, cell-based assays and flow cytometry
Experience with cell and tissue culture
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Methodical approach to work and record keeping
Able to handle specimens using aseptic techniques
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
High-level of attention to detail, with the ability to follow complex protocols
Excellent interpersonal skills

Preferred

Prior research experience in liver biology
Clinical research experience
Liver perfusion or liver lab tech experience
Comfortable with histology (sample preparation and staining)
Ability to analyze and present data using R
