Responsibilities

Define and drive the DevOps and cloud infrastructure vision and roadmap aligned with business goals
Oversee CI/CD pipeline development and infrastructure automation initiatives
Lead our test automation efforts and scale the test automation team
Build capability not only for test automation but also for systems automation
Lead the Cybersecurity initiatives across the product portfolio
Ensure system reliability, security, and performance through monitoring and optimization
Establish technical standards, best practices, and governance frameworks for a greater software team
Enhance software development processes and policies in alignment with the latest GenAI software practices
Lead cloud migration/modernization projects for infrastructure
Make build-vs-buy decisions and evaluate new tools & technologies
Partner with engineering teams to improve deployment velocity and developer experience
Stay hands-on enough to understand technical challenges and make informed decisions
Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing team of DevOps & cloud engineers
Mentor team members through technical challenges and career growth opportunities
Conduct regular 1:1s, provide constructive feedback, and create individual development plans
Foster an inclusive, collaborative culture where team members feel valued and empowered
Build cross-functional relationships with engineering, product, & business leaders
Translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and business leadership
Build trust across development, product, security, & operations teams
Champion DevOps culture and continuous improvement across the organization
Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs
Establish incident response procedures and lead postmortem processes
Balance competing priorities and allocate resources strategically
Manage budgets and optimize cloud costs without sacrificing quality

Required

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screen
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field required
Background in Agile/Scrum environments and continuous delivery practices
Experience managing geographically distributed or remote teams
Experience with change management and organizational transformation
Previous experience in Product Development and software build processes
5+ years of proven experience leading or managing technical people & teams
Demonstrated success in coaching, mentoring, and growing engineering talent
Expert in building positive team cultures and improving team performance
Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal, technical and non-technical
10+ years of total hands-on experience in product development, DevOps, or cloud engineering
Working knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Strong understanding of embedded build systems (CMake, Make) and hardware-in-the-loop testing
Familiarity with code analysis tools (SonarQube, Qualys) and compliance automation
Experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, release management, & code repository management
Knowledge of traditional infrastructure, like VMs, load balancers, and containers
Experience with modern deployment methodologies, including serverless and Kubernetes
Expert with automation & scripting within Linux operating systems (RHEL, SLES, SUSE, & Debian)
Strong understanding of software development & engineering ecosystems
Understanding of architecture, networking, and cybersecurity fundamentals
Ability to guide technical decisions and review software architectural designs
Strategic thinking balanced with tactical & technical execution
Growth mindset and commitment to continuous learning
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence without authority
