Responsibilities
Investigating losses to determine coverage and the extent of indemnity owed under the policy
Retaining and managing outside vendors and experts as part of a quality claims investigation
Obtaining and reviewing evidence, reports, and records
Establishing appropriate reserves, as warranted throughout the claims investigation
Processing expense and indemnity payments, as appropriate
Maintaining an organized and efficient workflow, including keeping an active diary on each open claim file
Providing superb customer service in a fast-paced environment
Drafting detailed correspondence, including coverage position letters and reservation of rights letters
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required
Adjuster licensing required
At least 3 years of claims adjusting experience, preferably involving commercial property
AIC, CPCU, or similar designations are a plus
Basic math skills
Basic literacy in computer knowledge and use
Excellent written and verbal communication
The ability to investigate facts, analyze problems, and draw appropriate conclusions based on knowledge and logic
Self-motivated and able to work independently, while meeting assigned deadlines
Maintain strict confidentiality
Conscientious attention to detail
Maintain positive and professional demeanor when interacting with internal and external customers
Preferred
Proficiency in Xactanalysis, Xactimate, and Xactcontents
