Responsibilities
Leads the design, implementation and maintenance of complex network infrastructure and services. Plays a critical role in enhancing network performance, security and reliability while ensuring the network infrastructure aligns with business goals
Leads the guidance and support for Network engineering team
Evaluates and recommends new networking technologies and tools to optimize performance
Monitors network performance and troubleshoot complex issues to ensure optimal functionality
Develops and maintains network documentation, diagrams and standards
Partners with Information Security to ensure network security protocols are implemented and followed
Collaborates cross-functionally to integrate and support different systems on the network
Mentors less experienced Team Members
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience in Network engineering or a similar role OR a High School Diploma/GED and at least 5 years of experience in network engineering or a similar role
At least 3 years of experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies
At least 3 years of experience with LAN/WAN Architecture, and performance tuning
At least 3 years of experience working with network and/or telecom protocols and technologies, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and VPN and firewalls
Knowledge of network security
At least 1 year of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross functional team leadership
Willing to travel up to/at least 10% of the time for business purposes
Preferred
Experience in hybrid cloud or multi-cloud architectures
Knowledge of SD-WAN solutions (Cisco, Meraki, Viptela, Aruba, etc.)
Familiarity with Zero Trust architectures
Strong documentation and communication skills
Ability to mentor junior engineers and lead technical projects
Advanced expertise with routing and switching protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, STP, VXLAN, etc.)
Strong experience with firewall and security platforms (Cisco ASA/FTD, Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.)
Solid understanding of load balancing technologies (F5, Citrix, or similar)
Proficiency with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Splunk, NetFlow, etc.)
