Responsibilities
Researches and develops new classes of business as directed. Researches market trends and competition
Assesses market viability, suggest form wording on endorsements and exclusions and supports rate changes based on global strategy
Reviews individual risks submitted by assigned agents to determine acceptability within company guidelines
Analyzes exposures to loss, develops an adequate premium charge for the exposure, determines endorsements and exclusions to address loss exposures for the insurance contract, including developing manuscript wording appropriate to the risk
Achieves team/individual production and loss ratio goals with assigned agents / brokers through sound book management and marketing
Oversees or handles policy maintenance items and other mid-term requests, as well as conducting midterm policy audits
Travels to agent offices as required for training, marketing or production visits. Assists with development of marketing ideas and strategies
Qualification
Required
Experience as a Senior Underwriter in the insurance industry
Ability to determine individual risk for acceptability, pricing, coverage, terms and conditions
Strong analytical skills to evaluate information and exposures on complex technical risks
Ability to research and develop new classes of business
Experience in assessing market viability and suggesting form wording on endorsements and exclusions
Ability to review individual risks submitted by agents to determine acceptability within company guidelines
Experience in analyzing exposures to loss and developing adequate premium charges
Ability to determine endorsements and exclusions to address loss exposures for insurance contracts
Experience in achieving production and loss ratio goals with assigned agents/brokers
Ability to oversee policy maintenance items and conduct midterm policy audits
Willingness to travel to agent offices for training, marketing, or production visits
