Responsibilities

Maintain and propagate various life cycle stages of •Hymenolepis diminuta•
Perform rodent-handling duties
Maintain •in vitro• parasite cultures
Maintain and organize laboratory inventory (including ordering)
Responsible for general lab maintenance duties including making common reagents, washing and sterilization of glassware, lab waste management, managing DNA sequencing, and managing deliveries to the lab
Assist laboratory personnel by independently performing a variety of cellular and molecular biological techniques, and helping with general lab duties
Attend Lab Meetings, And Other Meetings As Required

Required

Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or a related field
Experience in some, but not necessarily all, of the following: microscopy; molecular biology techniques; recombinant protein expression and purification
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
Excellent organizational skills
Strong analytical and basic computer skills
Strong oral and written communication skills

Preferred

Rodent/animal Handling Experience Is Preferred
