Responsibilities

Captures engaging photography and video that supports brand strategy and creative direction
Ensures technical accuracy, color consistency, audio clarity and overall creative quality
Edits photos and videos, retouching, color correction and resizing for final output
Navigates a wide range of project timelines, from rapid-turnaround requests to longer-term productions
Effectively communicates with visual, verbal and written skills, representing the brand team with professionalism, strong communication and a service mindset
Productively receives and incorporates feedback from multiple stakeholders
Makes recommendations based on best practices
Conceptualize and storyboard video ideas aligned with marketing goals, including promotional videos, event recaps, and social media content
Maintains and contributes to the team’s organized file management system
Responsible for the proper use, organization, and routine maintenance of production equipment. This includes ensuring gear is functional, stored correctly, and prepared for use across projects
Stays informed about emerging tools, equipment, techniques and trends in multimedia production to improve workflow and creative output
Mentors and cross-trains student workers other team members in areas of knowledge

Required

Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
Strong collaboration with teammates and clients is essential including maintaining strong working relationships across the university
Staying current with equipment and industry trends is expected as is proactive scouting of possible locations and subjects for future coverage
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required

Preferred

Operational knowledge of production gear (recording equipment)
Working knowledge with photo/video/audio production equipment (cameras, mixers, etc.); digitizing; photo/video/audio post-processing and media conversion
Fundamental knowledge of principles regarding video editing, graphics and lower-thirds
Ability to plan, implement and shoot basic video, and produce basic programs as assigned
Setup audio and compose lighting to competent standards
Evidence of a portfolio of work demonstrating strong diversity of photograph and videography styles and different uses of lenses, lighting and indoor and outdoor settings
Experience working with established brands and producing engaging creative while balancing the needs of brand standards
