Financial Analyst – Strategic Finance FP&A

Responsibilities
Create, interpret, and analyze financial statements, models, and other financial data to support decision making
Conduct analysis in areas such as: Department performance, Profitability and product/loan performance, Cost analysis, Pricing and valuation, Budgeting and forecasting, Financial modeling and scenario analysis, KPI reporting and ad-hoc analytics
Evaluate business transactions, planning cycle activities, and financial outcomes with clear, concise analysis
Serve as a subject‑matter expert on financial metrics that drive incentive compensation plans
Analyze plan performance, model payout impacts, ensure compliance with policies, and provide insights to leadership
Partner with business units to support design, implementation, and administration of incentive programs for large employee populations
Work closely with leaders across finance, business lines, business intelligence, and affiliates
Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership with clarity and confidence
Build strong cross‑functional relationships to ensure alignment between financial strategies and business objectives
Drive business process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy, efficiency, and automation
Identify data issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement solutions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field (Master's preferred for senior candidates)
2–4+ years of experience in financial analysis, financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, analytics, or incentive compensation
Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem‑solving skills
Ability to develop financial models and produce accurate, well‑structured reporting
Excellent communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences—from front-line bankers to executives
Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to thrive in deadline‑driven environments
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in cross‑functional teams
Strong initiative and drive for continuous improvement
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; strong PowerPoint and Word capabilities
Preferred
Experience in financial services or mid‑to‑large financial institutions preferred
Experience with SQL, Power BI, Business Objects, SAS, R, or Python highly preferred
Experience with Hyperion Essbase, SmartView, Financial Reporting Studio, or similar planning/reporting tools is a plus
Familiarity with data visualization and business intelligence tools desirable
