Responsibilities

Identify software tools and structure for a database that catalogs thermal energy networks projects, leverage case studies to develop and populate the database, and query the database to identify trends and data gaps
Perform market research and tracking of trends in the building energy space, such as cost trends, and other research and support tasks as assigned. Collaborate on cross-team projects and coordination of key buildings data sets across internal teams and business units at NYSERDA used for research
Communicate results of data projects to a diversity of audiences

Required

Currently progressing towards an undergraduate or advanced degree in data science, building science, engineering or related field
Interest in building decarbonization
Strong data analysis and data visualization skills (e.g., Tableau or PowerBI). Experience with programming language (e.g., Python or SQL)
Prior experience developing and querying databases including both quantitative and qualitative data. Understanding of fundamentals of data architecture
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams)
Strong communication and storytelling skills, including the ability to communicate structured insights from data analyses and research to varied audiences, including executives
Ability to demonstrate respect, equity and inclusive behavior and practices of a diverse workforce and community

Preferred

Familiarity with building energy systems, efficiency technologies and building energy data
