Responsibilities
Design, develop, and test mechanical systems and components for dock levelers, vehicle restraints, dock seals, and shelters
Create and maintain detailed CAD models, drawings, and specifications in accordance with manufacturing and safety standards
Conduct structural and performance analyses to verify design integrity and compliance with applicable regulations
Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, supply chain, and operations teams to ensure design feasibility, efficiency, and production readiness
Participate in prototype builds, testing, and validation activities
Manage engineering revision control, documentation, and bill of material (BOM) accuracy
Support product cost reduction, quality improvement, and standardization initiatives
Interface with sales and customers on custom design requests or technical support as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline required
Minimum 5 years of experience designing loading dock levelers, vehicle restraints, or similar industrial mechanical systems
Strong proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and technical drawing standards
Understanding of structural steel design, hydraulics, and mechanical power transmission systems
Familiarity with material selection, welding, and fabrication methods
Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills
Preferred
Experience with ANSI MH30.1 or related industry standards a plus
