Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines using Talend ETL tool
Build and optimize our data warehouse on Amazon Redshift, ensuring performance and reliability
Develop and implement data transformation models using DBT
Write complex and efficient SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data
Collaborate with data analysts and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub for code management and deployment
Participate in agile development processes, utilizing JIRA for task management and tracking
Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and data warehouse performance, identifying and resolving issues proactively
Contribute to the design and implementation of data governance and data quality processes
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and cloud computing
Mentor and guide junior data engineers on the team
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
4+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role
Strong proficiency in building and maintaining ETL processes using Talend
Extensive experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure, particularly S3 and Redshift
Hands-on experience with DBT for data transformation and modeling
Excellent SQL skills with the ability to write complex and optimized queries
Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control using Git (preferably GitHub)
Familiarity with agile development methodologies and project management tools like JIRA
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
Experience with other AWS services relevant to data engineering (e.g., Glue, EMR, Athena)
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python
Experience with data visualization tools, particularly Looker
Familiarity with data governance frameworks
Contributions to open-source projects
