Responsibilities

Validate and act on MRP signals to ensure accurate material planning
Resolve raw material discrepancies by coordinating with machining and reviewing BOMs, yields, and inventory data
Source, purchase, and schedule raw materials, components, and services to support uninterrupted production
Maintain procurement master data (PIRs, Source Lists) and manage purchase orders, including Kanban and unit conversions
Monitor inventory levels, driving reductions in excess and obsolete stock
Negotiate with suppliers to secure timely, cost‑effective, and high‑quality materials
Partner with Sourcing and Supplier Quality to address supplier performance, capacity, and quality issues
Monitor supplier delivery performance (e.g., SOTIF) and escalate risks proactively
Ensure PO accuracy and alignment with Approved Supplier List (ASL) requirements
Coordinate with production, warehouse, quality, and engineering teams to ensure material availability and flow
Represent Purchasing in daily operations, scheduling, and Tier meetings
Support Supply Chain and manufacturing initiatives and cross‑functional projects
Achieve inventory and service-level goals while supporting production requirements
Support capacity planning, supply continuity efforts, and supplier value‑stream improvements
Ensure compliance with established procedures and support audit activities

Required

Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 0 years relevant experience
Experience working with MRP/ERP systems (strong SAP knowledge a definite asset)
Experience using Blue Yonder advanced supply chain platform
Excellent communication skills (both oral and written), team orientation, and ability to negotiate towards positive outcomes
Strong organizational skills and good understanding of team dynamics
Must be detail-oriented, with ability to connect the detail to higher level goals
Working knowledge of quality system requirements and good manufacturing practices
Experience working in a regulated environment (i.e., medical device, pharmaceutical)
APICS and/or CPM Certification Cost accounting understanding/experience
Understanding of contracts (supply, services, non-disclosures, etc.)
Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt (or comparable training)
Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) or similar software
Strong data analysis, data management, and quantitative skills (good working knowledge of PowerBI a definite asset)
