Logistics Quality Engineer

As a Logistics Quality Engineer, you will ensure logistics operations meet the highest standards of quality and compliance, leading investigations and implementing corrective actions while collaborating with various teams.

Responsibilities
Monitor and audit warehousing, transportation, and distribution processes to ensure full compliance with PMI’s Quality Management System (QMS)
Lead investigations of logistics-related non‑conformances, including product damage, contamination, mislabeling, and temperature excursions
Develop and implement robust corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) in partnership with cross-functional teams
Partner with internal and external stakeholders—quality, operations, logistics, IT, and warehouse teams—to define, refine, and continuously improve logistics quality processes
Draft, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure clarity, compliance, and alignment with PMI standards
Maintain regular connection with warehouse personnel across the PMI network to review quality topics and update quality performance status
Support reverse logistics processes, including product returns, disposition, and sustainability-focused activities
Ensure full traceability and integrity of smoke-free products throughout the U.S. supply chain
Analyze logistics quality data such as damage rates, returns, and audit results to identify trends or improvement areas
Prepare and deliver quality performance reports to internal stakeholders
Provide training to logistics and warehouse personnel on handling procedures, hygiene standards, and quality protocols
Ensure adherence to internal policies, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements for tobacco and nicotine-containing products
Collaborate with internal teams to address logistics-related customer complaints and feedback
Contribute quality input to recall readiness, execution, and PRSSM processes
Qualification
Required
University degree in Supply Chain, Quality, Logistics, or a related field — or equivalent experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in Supply Chain, Quality, Logistics, Management, Distribution, Warehousing, and/or Transportation
Solid understanding of GMP, ISO 9001, and regulatory requirements related to tobacco or nicotine products
Hands-on experience with root cause analysis, CAPA management, and audit execution
Proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, SAP)
Strong communication, problem‑solving, and cross-functional collaboration capabilities
Experience supporting logistics for smoke-free or other regulated consumer products
Preferred
Familiarity with sustainability or ESG-aligned logistics practices
Lean Six Sigma certification (or equivalent) is an advantage
