Responsibilities
Prepare, interpret, and present financial and operational reports related to affiliate, vendor and IRA custody oversight to Trust Company senior leadership; identify trends and provide actionable recommendations to influence decision-making
Collaborate with Trust Company associates and leaders to verify affiliate and vendor performance against Master Services Agreements (MSAs), and work with affiliate and vendor partners to address and close any identified service gaps
Monitor vendor and affiliate service levels, testing for compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs); initiate corrective action plans when SLAs are not met and escalate issues as appropriate
Partner with senior leaders to communicate service concerns and define a path forward when affiliate or vendor performance falls below expectations
Design, implement, and evaluate internal controls, reports, and tools to mitigate risk in affiliate, vendor and IRA custody oversight, ensuring alignment with regulatory and internal control frameworks (e.g., WSPs, SOX, SOC-1, 17a-5)
Lead system design, documentation, testing, and implementation efforts to ensure business requirements are met and risks are addressed
Serve as a subject matter expert on IRA custody oversight matters, providing guidance and support to Trust Company associates
Analyze, document, and monitor business processes related to affiliate, vendor and IRA custody oversight; identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risk
Interpret and communicate the impact of applicable rules and regulations from governing bodies such as the IRS, OCC, and other federal and state agencies. Leverage internal and external resources to proactively develop controls, support decision-making, and manage ongoing compliance. Identify and assess emerging risks related to affiliate and vendor oversight; develop and implement strategies to mitigate those risks
Interface with internal and external compliance officers, auditors, vendors, and regulators to support oversight and audit readiness
Represent the Trust Company in regulatory discussions, articulating risks associated with affiliate, vendor and IRA custody oversight, and the measures taken to address them
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree Required
6+ years of experience
Strong experience in financial services industry related to internal or external audit, risk management, and/or accounting
An understanding of the regulatory environment in which the Trust Company operates (particularly related to vendor management/oversight), Trust company governance structures, and sound risk management practices are required
In depth experience in the financial services industry, specifically in retirement account administration, vendor management and oversight, audit, risk management, or accounting
Solid understanding of fiduciary administration, investment principles, and the regulatory environment governing trust companies, particularly in relation to vendor oversight and risk management
